As part of our ongoing commitment to helping those in need, St. Mark’s Church Farnborough supported the Friends from Marich Pass charity in their initiative: Pants to Lent.
This simple but vital project aimed to raise enough funds to provide undergarments for the pupils at David Roden Oron Primary School in Marich Pass, West Pokot, Kenya. Many of these children lack even the most basic clothing, and with just £1 per item, we made a real difference.
Our initial goal was to raise £300, which allowed us to provide each child with two sets of undergarments.
This project is just one example of the support and practical assistance St. Mark’s Church is committed to offering. For instance, in a recent effort, we raised funds for made-to-order bunk beds (or “double-deckers”), which were crafted quickly and to a high standard for just £75 each. We also provided sports equipment, such as a FIFA-standard football. We’ve also invested in a volleyball and net, which brought fun in the community to those who just wanted to play.
Would you like to help? Donations, however small, go a long way to improve the lives of these children.
